This remote is a piece of crap for the price
This remote is a piece of crap for the price. First, to set up this thing you have to spend several hours finding serial numbers and setting up the devices. Then once you have them set up then it never works like it is supposed to. Every time I want to watch TV with the satellite or with the media player I have to go through the help menu to determine if each device is on or off. If you drop the remote it will not work, I am on my second remote and the screen does not work. I would rather just have a normal universal remote for a fraction of the price, it would be just as much trouble to set up and just as easy to use. Do not but this remote if you think it is going to make using your stuff easier.

A nice remote but not perfect
My setup: An LCD hi-def TV, a cable-company DVR, a Wii game system, and a Blu-Ray disc player.

This remote does what it advertises that it will do. I can operate ALL of the above components without using the original remotes, which is what I wanted. The online set-up wasn't the simplest thing I've ever done, but it wasn't all that complex given the amount of information the remote needs to store. It's a nice looking remote and being able to plug it into my computer to update it is convenient.

However... some drawbacks. I really can't stand the annoying pre-school colored buttons like "Watch Movie," "Watch TV," "Listen to Music," and "Play Game." A simple "Source" button, like the one on my DVR and Blu-Ray remotes, is SO much more convenient. For example, if I'm watching TV and want to put in a DVD, I can't just hit "source" to go to DVD mode. I have to press "Watch Movie." Then, the remote tries to search for the proper source, but it rarely finds it. So now I have to press "Help" and answer a series of protracted questions that appear on the remote's screen...

"Is the TV on?" Press "yes" or "no."

"Is the TV on now?" Press "yes" or "no."

"Did this fix the problem?" Press "yes" or "no."

"Is the DVD player on?" Press "yes" or "no."

"Is the DVD player on now?" Press "yes" or "no."

"Did this fix the problem?" Press "yes" or "no."

"Is the Cable Box connected to the HDMI input?" Press "yes" or "no."

"Is the Cable Box connected to the HDMI input now?" Press "yes" or "no."

"Did this fix the problem?" Press "yes" or "no."

Well, you get the idea. And you have to cycle through all these questions just to get to the input source you want. Almost every day, I sit down to watch TV, press the little green "Watch TV" button, and either the TV or the cable box won't automatically come on. So, I press "Help" and have to cycle through the above questions just to get them turned on at the same time. A simple "source" button would allow me just to go right to the input I need without having to spend several minutes taking a quiz.

Another annoying feature is the options divided between the remote buttons and the on-screen buttons. For instance, the "Previous Channel" button is located on an actual button toward the bottom of the remote. But the "Favorite Channels" button is one that appears on the screen, and is operated through the interchangeable side button toward the top. So if you're surfing with the favorites button and you want to go back to the last channel, you now have to go all the way to the bottom to get that button, which requires using both hands. Also, the options on the interchangeable buttons require scrolling through different screens to get to the ones you need. The screen could also be brighter and easier to read.

On the whole, a nice remote that does what it's supposed to, but with some infuriating little flaws.

I love this remote
I have been looking to buy a Harmony for many years now and just never got around to purchasing one. I finally decided I was going to get one and ordered this one. I liked it for a couple of reasons:

1. I loved the price to feature combination
2. It was not overly crowded on the front screen
3. I was able to get rid of my 5 other remotes that this one controls

I got the item and plugged it right into my computer and started the software; setup was a breeze. It is basically select and click the whole way through and the only thing I had to really stress on was moving my electronic components around to try and find model numbers. I was pretty much done setting this thing up in under 15 minutes and I have never owned one of these things before. I notice some people saying these remotes or any Harmony is very hard to set up but I just didn't see it.

Overall I highly recommend this remote and if the higher end Harmonies are anything like this one you cannot go wrong with them.

Replacing older Harmony
I was replacing an older Harmony remote which had ceased to function.
The new unit arrived very quickly and the Harmony web-page features a "one-click" set-up that transfers existing info to the new device.
As with the older Harmony not all devices seem to work automatically every time. My digital cable box has such a long response time that it needs to be left ON to avoid partial on/off television operation.

really missed my expectations
I was really surprised at how easy it was to set up this remote and I loved the feel but that's where the thrill ended. first off the idea of a one button does all sounded great but it never worked. after the first time mainly because there's no possible way for it to work with my setup. If I set it to watch a movie and then went to TV it would go to TV and then not back to movie because it cycled through the settings and the number of cycles required depends on the previous setting but the remote assumed it was always the same number of cycles. Worse was when I wanted to turn on my stereo say to play the TV audio through the system but the power on button for my stereo was on menu 17 of 22 for my stereo features.
